thanks for the reply- as best I could tell- it was coming from where the new coil meets the old frame (part you dont replace)
I tried doing an ohm test, but dang- couldnt' get ANY reading except test #2, and that was fine- tried sticking staples in the slots, but couldn't get decent contact I guess-
going to replace wires and revisit the coil bracket- remove, drawfile flat- clean bracket to head contact- I think this is the damp start problem I've had for years (as I've replaced a ton of components)
I'll post results after overnight running of hose on engine
