das is right on. and no--need to recharge (your freon I'm assuming) shouldn't make a difference on the car's overheating. Although it is a nice thing to do for your passengers

the Freon doesn't efferct the fan or relay. Also keep in mind that a perfectly working ac system when sitting in traffic on a hot day---will eventually over heat your engine...but it still shouldn't effect the fan coming on or off. Good luck
