4: If you look to the left of the lever in the column you can see 5 round brass contacts with small holes in the center arranged in a half circle. Those are contacts that have to be cleaned.

5: Spray the contact cleaner then spray the dry air to dry the housing out, do this for about 4 or 5 times, rotate the headlight switch for each time you spray.

6: Let the car stand for 15 to 20 minutes to insure that its dry and thats it.

7: Re-connect the battery, reset the date and time and your done.

It worked for me on my ‘97, hope this helps.
