Re: help 99' rodeo won't start

Update part three

Picked up the truck from a dealership, partially dissasembled. They were right about the lack of compression on one bank ,I've performed the test myself just to be sure, here is what i've got.

Cyl #1--130 psi
Cyl#2--210 psi
Cyl#3--132 psi
Cyl#4--210 psi
Cyl#5--129 psi
Cyl#6--208 psi

I wonder why compression is around 80 psi lower on one bank on all three cylinders 1,3,5,what could cause that?

Last night teared engine apart , what i noticed is in intake plenum all the ports going to 2,4,6 cylinders were all wet ,considered normal, and ports on 1,3,5 side were all dry ,covered with some brownisch dusty looking deposit.Again, what could have cause that?Lack of fuel?

Took me about 2.5 hours to pull the head off ,i will drop it at the machine shop for them to check it out, eventuly rebuild it.
My suspicious is that maybe the valve seats are damaged, cause i doubt there might be something wrong with the pistons rings.

Let me know what you guys think?
All coments are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Mike.
