What works for me is to park it on an incline, take the rad cap off, then let it run for 5 -10 minutes from the point the temp gauge reads normal with the front and rear heaters on . I've got the 3.8 but, I've read the 3.8 is just a bored out 3.3.

If you really have to my Haynes manual (96-98) shows a vent plug on the block just below the valve cover on the left side near the T-stat housing on 3.3and 3.8 ltr engines.
