There certainly is a number of things that can cause this. It would help to be more specific. Can you tell if it is coming from the front or rear? How many miles does the car have on it? Does it ride rough?

There are two grease fittings on the rear suspension that a lot of people don't know about. They are on the pivot points on the suspension just behind the tires if I remember right. I could see where that might cause squeaking if it has never been lubed. Would be worth giving it a few shots with a grease gun...

The other thing that it could be besides the struts.shocks is the front sway bar and/or bushings. These parts wear out quite frequently, although most of the time you hear banging more than squeaks. If the bushings are shot it may do that though. You'll have to get the front end up in the air on car ramps and just look the whole suspension over for loose or worn parts. Good luck!
