Thx for your inputs. Installed new (salvage) a/c compressor - evacuated the system and installed 2.2 lbs of new 134a.
Everything is fine and cool in Casa Grande, AZ !!!
By the way, always be careful when resetting dc connector. Check once and then check again to make sure the pins match.
