Well I just fixed the front today. I used rubber spacers that placed the spring further down from the top hat. I have a little less than an inch fender gap in the front now but the good news is that I have suspention travel, even if it is only an inch or so.

Tomorrow I tackle the rears. Unlike the fronts, I do have travel in the rear, i.e. its not resting on the bumpstop. I think I'm going to cut half a coil from the softer side of the spring which should lower it a bit and also make it stiffer. I'm also going to cut the bumpstops. I just want the rear to be at the same height as the fronts so if it gets to low, I can add spacers to raise it a bit.
