Re: 94 Bonneville Problems

Stalling problem - Well My 94 engine would quit or stop whenever it felt like it. Not to often but once in a while. I would pull over to the side of the road, restart and all is ok. Once in a while, it wouldn't start, just the click of the starter. Even though I just drove it to the location.

Replaced the ignition module (under the coils) and the quitting seemed to stop. Hasn't done it in a few weeks. When I replaced it I also cleaned all the contacts on the coils and the main harness connection. Actually I had a similar problem on a 77 Ford many years ago and it was the module also.

The starting problem. To make the car start I would wiggle the positive connection to the battery. Now it shouldn't wiggle but somehow after a couple weeks it would start to wiggle no matter how tight I made it. I replaced the positive screw (its longer than the negative version) but only after checking replacement positive battery screws in different stores. They had different shapes. I one I have now does not loosen up. Figure that one out.

Of course I did them both at the same time so I don't know which might have been the cause.

Hope that helps a little.
