I have removed smell off of most if not everything in the cabin as far as dash seats ect. Now only when the A/C is on do you smell the odor. Now for the fun part, I've been searching and reading and it appears according to the forums that the Cabin air filter was deleted on/during the 03 model year. However when I went to autozone and they still had the cabin air filter listed for my truck.
I went ahead and picked up the filter just hoping that maybe there is a filter under the dash somewhere since it was listed in the computer. I took off the black kick panel and I can't seem to find one anywhere.
So my question is from experience has anyone seen any 03+ model silverado with a cabin air filter? And if there is no cabin air filter how do I "cleanse" the system? Any Ideas/opinions/DIY's are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Josh

Unfortunately, there is no cabin air filter for your truck. As for cleansing the HVAC system... I just took my truck into the dealer because my AC smelled really musty and I am still under warranty. I was informed that the smell was due to rotted leaves and they used some kind of disenfectant to clean the whole system and it smells beautifuly now. I've heard you can purchase such stuff at AutoZone and the like, but since I didn't perform this myself, I don't know exactly what it is and how to use it. My advice would be to just call a dealer and/or auto parts store and ask them about HVAC system disinfectant.
