Acouple of months ago I started hearing a knocking noise under my feet, only when I was driving from 10-25 MPH. Whether or not it was exactly under my feet or vibrating from somewhere else in the front, I don't know. I had a friend look at it and they said it needed a greasing real bad. So my husband got under and did that, turned the tires in all which directions and did those. After that I heard no more knocking.
Now I have a grinding noise coming from my drivers side front tire. The faster I go the less I hear. I also get a noise when I brake, mostly on a decline. I have learned to brake real early and slowly to try to avoid the noise. It sounds like a "clunk". I also get the noise when I go over bumps.
I think I have gotton myself paranoid because of the whole "ball joint" recall on newer models. All I can imagine is my wheel coming off and that's the end of me. If anyone has any idea what this could be, it would be much apprieciated. I am hoping it is nothing big because money is tight right now. And I don't think there is a recall for the year of this Durango...I've called a the Dodge dealership and they said it would 200 for them to look at it. I think that is ridiculous. Thanks...

Taco...make sure you get the new 411 on the wheel bearing in my reply. could be expensive but possibly necessary.
