With an engine w/ High Compression, its key to use 91 or higher octane, Not only is the computer designed to run on that higher octane, the gas has higher resistance to detonation for the higher compression of the engine you probably dont notice any powerloss or even mpg reduction/gain because going from 87 to 89 wouldn't change too much, try 93 and you'll notice a diffrence. Gas prices are extremely high, but i wouldn't short change my car on good gas to save me 10bucks in my wallet.
