Well, clubairth, you were correct. I put the scan tool on the LS again and noticed that in fact there are misfires and the knock sensors are picking the misfires up as well. They are not so frequent as to cause the CEL to illuminate or set a code, but frequent enough that I can watch them in datastream mode and now I can even feel them at idle. I suspect they are the reason for the sluggish acceleration.

I pulled one coil and plug. Everything under the coil cover plates looks clean and brand new. There were no signs of oil on the one coil I pulled and the plug looked good and the gap is well within spec. Since it's still under warranty, I made an appointment with the local dealer for Monday. We'll see what happens.
