I turn into my neighborhood street at 40-45. The main thoroughfare through the neighborhood is 35 and the main road to turn in there is 45, so I dont need to slow down much. If there are kids out, slow it down more. (Unfortunately people cut through here at about 50...even over the speed humps. Usually on their phone and not alert for small kids.)
While we're on the subject. I hate people who think they can fly through the neighborhood. Im lucky enough to live in a neighborhood where there is a main road that cuts all the way through thats marked 35mph, and then there are branches with the houses through there which arent marked, but are obviously slower. Though people still fly through at 30-35 with kids out. Its rather appalling.
