parts stores is kind of a hit and miss thing. some work, but most wont. i lucked out with one from napa, which has been working fine. im not sure on what auto stores you have up there, but i have also had luck with an airtex i think, which is found at carquest.

but im curious, do you know what the codes were? and yes the fuel pump replacement can get expensive because of what has to be done and the pump is expensive because your getting the entire pump/module assembly which is a good dealer part. when i worked in a shop, we wouldnt put any other fuel pump on a car unless the person requested something different which we then couldnt warranty the work because of that.
