In general, the front o2 sensor provides info on the composition of the exhaust right out of the motor for the computer to adjust mixture, the rear monitors the exhaust composition after passing through the catalyst, to ensure compliance.
So it should run fine, but won't pass an inspection where OBDII compliance is mandated.
