Ok, my car was making clicking noises when my AC was on. I (being a detective of sorts) decided to find out what the heck it was for myself. I pinpointed the noise to a spot under the glovebox. There seemed to be a housing under there for something rotary. I thought that might be it, so I unscrewed it and lo and behold, some slotted canister comes out!! I was like, what the bloody hell is this for? It was clogged with leaves and pollen and crap, so I pulled it all out, put it back in, and the AC runs beautifully. But what the hell is it for? It wasn't a filter, or anything like that. just some stupid spinning cylindar with slots. Anyone know what this is for? and why my owners manual doesn't mention it?
Thanks.

my car did the same thing but it wasn't just when the ac was on but it went away after a week or so. I love problems that solve themselves like that.
