These transmissions usually start having trouble anywhere from 100k miles to 200k miles. In my case of a messed up tranny, it was easier to just get one from a junked engine (which I had conveniently in my garage) instead of trying to rip it apart and fix it.

However, Lucas may not be a bad idea to try before anything as drastic as a rebuild/replace/repair/etc. The only company's products that I fully trust what their labels say are Lucas and Seafoam, if that means anything to you.

But I'm kinda useless when it comes to the guts of a tranny since I haven't felt the need to rip one apart...yet....
