Motorex was the ONLY legal solution to getting a Skyline. There are a couple of RI's that are working on legalizing the Skylines, but you should be wary on leaving any money until they have been approved.

There have been many arguments on the legality of kit cars. Registering the cars are not usually the problem, you may be able to drive it, but it may not be completely legal (no EPA and NHSTA paperwork). If the federal goverment decides to look into certain kit cars, you can be fined and they can confiscate the vehicle. Another item that was mentioned is if the car is involved in a claim, the insurance company may have the right not to make any payments.

These info was found from different boards. For the price of some of the kit cars, I've seen legalized R32's and R33's sell for a couple of thousand more.
