i ended up taking it to a muffler shop. i actually did get a magniflow cat put on and MAN what a difference in sound.. i just cant describe it.. it has a low smooth rumbling sound @ 1.5k to 2.2k rpm, and a slight rumble as rpms elevates slowly but when i hit the gas, it sounds just like when i had the old cat (didnt change the muffler....yet) but louder and more aggressive. and it's definitely got a few more hp from it. i had no idea a cat would make any difference as far as sound goes, but i do have another question. im not going with a catback (since i didnt do it with the cat i got and it's doing me pretty good) but i want to know the sound/hp difference if any between an oval muffler and a bullet style muffler. i dont want a honda cry *truthfully i cant stand it* but i dont want it too low, just about in the middle.. i guess you could say i want the sound level to be just tolerable enough where i dont have to turn up the sterio to hear a song, but i still want a rumble. i really want a bullet style muffler cause they just look cool, but either way i want to go with what sounds good to me. any comments?
