I have an 02 JETTA 1.8t and I'm completely satisfied with it. I race with mine and I dont see what your talking about. I laugh at passats and even at A4's. My car stock was even beating the brand new GLI's so I have no clue to what is wrong with yours. And the power on the jettas kick in at 1900RPM where it doesnt go down until you get to 6000.
