Re: Brakes

When I bought my 2000 GLS used it came with new brake components, crappy ones of course and they squeak like hell after a month. Replaced with ceramic pads and they've never made a noise since.

Since brake dust is the #1 cause of brake squeaking and ceramic pads are quiet from its dustlessness (is this a word?) I'd re-confirm the pads are actually of ceramic type, then make sure the backing shim is in good condition and is well treated with the compound.

It sounds like metal slides(slips) against metal. The squeaky noise comes from the passenger side only. I've triple checked everything and can't find anything wrong with brake set up. I taught it might have been a faulty caliper but do not want to replace it 'till I know for sure it is. Help.
