FYI...
Just got the truck back from the garage. $192 total damages to replace the cable. It snapped near the end under the column, where the steel rod portion conects to the cable strands. Like I said, 185K and stuff is going to wear out. I can't imagine how many times that shifter has been moved back and forth!
