The whole concept of having to hate something simply because its differnt comes from 3 things:

Fear and ignorance, which is a primitive emotion mixed with lack of education and is easily fixed.

Monothiestic religeous ideas that there must be good and evil in the world.
Easily fixed by removing them from society through education of the masses.

Cultural ideals based on Christian ideals spread by the USA.
Easily fixed by giving the Britsh back what the French took.
