Re: Good alternator buy?

I have an Ohio Gen 170 amp HO alternator. At first they send it to me without the smaller pully (which gives it a higher output at idle), so I had to yank the halfshaft to remove the alternator (since it's idle output was crap)l and send it back, that sucked. It''s worked much better since I got it back. Still some weird thing where it likes ot drop to like 12.6-13. something at idle, but they swear that hondas do that. IDK though. It's been a good product though, no dimming or anything when driving, even with the stereo up pulling over 1000 watts. Now If I o nly could figure the idle thing out, I'd be happy.

That's the only company I've used, so I can't say about the others. I went with Ohio Gen honestly cuz I have a wholesale account and ther-by could save $$ buying their alternator, that and their honda alternator used an oem casing with their guts inside so it fit in the stock location better thn, say wrangler woukd have in my car (snce space was limited). I really never looked at others too much cuz of this. I have heard mean green is good, I can't say about HO, never really heard anything. Wrangler Performance NW makes pretty good high output alternators too.

I hope this long rant helped at least a little.
