What is the status of the title? It sounds like trouble to me. The Supra is a unibody, there are no frame rails, so just looking at the subframe rails won't tell you much. The car could be tweaked out, not could, probably is tweaked out. The only way to tell is to take it to a frame shop and have them measure it out. If the guy hit hard enough to break the subframe there has to be significant damage elsewhere that will impact handling. It sounds like a big project to me. If you plan on making a trailer queen show car out of it then I guess it is a good starting point. It is certainly cheaper than starting with a good vehicle. If you are looking for something that will see daily driving look elsewhere. If it is for track duty I would have the car checked out at a shop before buying to make sure the car isn't so far gone that it won't be able to handle properly. When dealing with wrecked cars be prepared to spend a lot of money putting the chassis right.
