My car will not idle after I just installed a new intake manifold gasket..it stalls immediately after starting unless the gas is held down, in which case it gives it gas and then cuts gas repeatedly with some backfiring. I broke a t-connector for one of the vacuum hoses that connects to the back of the intake manifold, so that hose isn't on too well and I can hear it leaking when it's running. I also snapped a plastic vacuum line that connects to the underside of the front of the intake manifold, which I put back together with some duct tape. 1. Your idle isn't correct because you have vacuum leaks no matter if you 'duct taped' it or not.
2. Don't work on your car, have someone else do for you or learn not to break shit.
3. If the parts you busted off your intake were mold'd into the intake and now they are broken off, you'll need a new intake. This time, when swapping it out, DO NOT break anything.
