As of a couple weeks ago, the front passenger inside door handle in my 97 Avalon XLS is no longer able to open the door. The front passenger door now only opens from the outside. The locks still work fine.

Pulling on the front passenger inside door handle still feels normal, but nothing happens when you pull the handle.

It's like a child lock has been engaged, but I don't think the front passenger door has a child lock feature.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Any known problems of this sort?
