In my opinion rotary engines are really simple to work on. Of course I have a 12a, which is considerably simpler than a 13b, but the basic internals are the same. The basic theory of how a rotary works is really simple, also the fact that there are only three moving parts internally coupled with the absence of cams, lifters, valves and all that makes for a very easy engine to work on. This also helps with longevity especially with the impoved apex seals of the newer rotaries.
