You have hydraulic valve lifters in your 2.5L, and they do not require adjustment. Last time I adjusted valves was on my 1974 Plymouth Scamp 225 slant six.

Just wait for the ticking to go away each time you start up. Make sure you are changing your oil regularly. My '97 had a 2.5 and it made some noise when first starting up.
