Hey Skip...I don't know if this is what you've got, but I'll let you in on my story. I had a similar sqeak on my 98 Tahoe that started at around 85000. It only made noise on take off...so I went about changing the u-joints, the rear stab links, shocks, springs...pretty much the whole rear suspension(realistically it needed everything anyway). Finally got it to quit. My findings unfortunately were the most expensive kind. The noise, we found, was coming from the front eyelets on the leaf springs. I could usually recreate the noise by bouncing the rear end or rocking the truck side to side. If I put my hand on the eyelet while rocking the truck I could actually feel it shift, and no amount of silicone spray quieted it down any. Once we changed the springs it was smooth(and quiet) sailing, and plus as a bonus the rear end sag was gone and it didn't 'dump' on takeoff anymore. Again I don't know if this is what you've got, but just FYI, it's something to check out. Good luck. Let us know what you find. MM.
