Re: Really pissed off and frustrated
OK, true as that may be, it would have been very easy for them to leave like 1 more inch of clearance for them to be removed...especially since the quality of the stock mounts was so bad. I dont know how long they intended them to last (even with a grandma driving), but from how mine looked, they needed to be replaced long before I knew there was a serious problem. That front roll stop had 2 little rubber pieces holding the whole thing togeather, and my engine and trans side mounts were completely separated from the housing...like, nothing left holding them on. When i took them out, the rubber centers fell out when I pressed on them. Also, what pisses me off the most i guess was that the repair manual I got (supposed to be a good one), said absolutely nothing about there being clerance issues, or any problems I could run into when doing this. Perhaps if I were warned ahead of time that I would run into some tricky parts, I would not have been frustrated, and needed to problem solve. Oh well, it's in the past and I hope this thread helps out some others in the future if they plan on tackeling this task. It is a DIY no doubt (with pneumatic tools), but plan ahead of time on spending more time that you think you will need (I guess that goes true with any DIY project).
