Re: Reji Model Skoda Fabia WRC - Swedish Rally 2005 Red Bull

Yes, I loved the Red Bull car, which is mostly why I got it. The 2006 version looks great too, maybe I will build a tarmac version of that someday.

To clean up the parts I used a basic hobby knife with a #11 blade, a set of side-cutters, some flexible sanding sticks, tiny files, and a 'Flex-I-File' (Which was especially helpful for the cage parts. I found that dragging the knife backwards in the grooves was the best way to trim the excess flashing that was in the windows (Like on the roll cage pieces), as it removes a LOT of material (And makes a LOT of mess LOL). I also used the side-cutters to carefully snip off as many of the little nubs and other bits as I could befor sanding them. I think I will have to use a Dremel on that big part in the picture with the seats (but definitely wear a mask and glasses).

Overall I think I prefer the excess flashing like some of those parts have to having them poorly molded or incomplete: I'd rather spend 10 minutes cutting and filing a part to shape than having to fill any parts with putty.

A good choice I must say, in my opinion the Red Bull livery is the best so far for the Fabia.

Do you use any specific tools to clean the resin parts? Sanding paper, dremel, file?
