My Christmas presents arrived this week: A Profil-24 MG Metro 6R4 and a Reji Skoda Fabia WRC.
Here is the Metro. Not sure what happened with the lighting: There are three flourescent bulbs on the ceiling above, and an Ott Lite on the table, and some of them were still quite dark, so I think I have to tweak the white balance/lighting.
These two are my first resin kits, and the Metro is pretty disappointing: Virtually every part has air bubbles in it that will need to be filled, and a few (The rear 'venturi' and the back of the radiator) are warped and need to be flexed to fit in place. When the body is dropped in place, the front inner fenders show and will have to be modfied. The biggest problems are the tires, which are very hard and impossible to stretch over the wheels, and the front bumper overhangs the body by about 2-3mm on each side and will have to be cut or sanded to fit.
It's not all bad: The interior looks good, especially the dashboard and door panels, and the wires molded in place are quite good. The wheels are nice, the PE set looks good, and it has actual struts and springs, unlike most resin kits.
This kit will require a lot work to complete, and that's just to build it out of the box, not including all the other details I want to add. I will definitely let this one sit until I am more confident in my skills to finish it (Or I want to sell it, whichever comes first). For the price I paid, it's a little disappointing, but I guess that's the price you have to pay when it's the only game in town.
