if you put the car in drive (if it is an auto, which i am guesing it is) and try to start it, will it? try in neutral and park. if the car will start in any gear besides neutral and park or if after wiggling the shifter, the car starts, you need a new neutral safety switch (known to saab techs as the tranny range switch).
i have seen this a few times. sometimes all you have to do is wiggle the shifter and it starts. seen many cars with no start conditions get towed in and then i jump in the car and it starts right up (after i wiggled the shifter of course). ticks off a lot of people when that happens.
