I am really saving for an MK IV actually. Ebay's rigged Supras are considerably cheaper, and I liked them track exclusive anyway, so its a good deal. But really, what I wanted is a good RWD or AWD. I'm beginning to hate WRX or EVOS bc of their status symbol. ALmost got an alltrac celica, but didn't. After reading the "overpriced-used-supra-ridiculousness" argument... I have to agree. I test-drove an Mk IV once, and it was such a thrill. Much to my dismay though, I was so attached to celica's handling. And then I test-drove an FD, RX-7... and no other thrill comes close to match this driving experience. Not even an Mk IV, which costs double/triple/quadriple...
Supras' price won't go down so quick, even if the next generation do come up. The "new" Supra will be what? 50k? 75K?? Can't be cheaper than a lexus for sure, bc that will hurt Lexus' sales... and then the new GT-R will come out cheaper....oooh. Toyota's chance for performance box is over guys... Other than for the JGTC events, drag events, or local showcase, the Mk IV Supra is just an overpriced nostalgia.
