While I don't see the point in modding a sunfire per your example, it's not right at all to call it a shitty car. If the owner has a passion for modifying that particual car then so be it, different strokes for different folks. [quote]
A shitty car is a shitty car. If you intend to do a high preformance build you need to start with a good platform. With enough time and money you can turn a turd into a diamond, but by the time you are done how much of the orriginal will be left. Not only that, but what is it going to take to get there? I suppose if you are so hooked on your car that you just HAVE to use it then go ahead. That doesn't make it a good idea. I have seen some really fast Pintos out there, but I wouldn't exactly call them Pintos either. After droping in a 5.0 up front and a 9 inch out back there is nothing Pinto left. You can do the same for a Sunfire, Civic, Cavalier, Focus, Festiva, Justy, Metro, Escort, (insert favorite crap box here), or any other econo box, but that doesn't make them a good platform to start with.
