Stock internals will hold up to about 400-450 if they are in really good shape still. The people who do run 450-500 on stock internals just get lucky. If your goal is 500 I would just do it right from the start and build the internals up so you can run as much power as you want without throwing a rod or whatnot. If you are like me though and are gonna stop at about 400hp then I would leave it as stock internals till you blow something up or are ready for more power.
