Why are Supra's so Expensive?

The Toyota Supra is probably one of my favorite cars of all time. But, I have to say that I think that for the money people want for one, you would be better off setting your sites on something else. The main reason I say is that buy now most of them have racked up mileage around the 100-150k mile range. I know its a toyota, but STILL. For a TT 6spd you would be paying AT LEAST 25-30k for a 10 year old car with about 150k miles on it. Also, many of them have already been tampered with. Do you really want a car someone else has modded and then beat the @#$% out of for 150k miles? As for the other supras, Personally, I wouldnt want a TT auto, or a 5spd with a turbo kit (both of which are often priced over bluebook). And what if you do happen to see a nice stock TT 6spd? your gonna shell out 30,40, maybe even 50k for it. Thats about what the car was new... and after you get that super nice car, are you gonna buy turbo upgrades, nos and a body kit for it and drag race it? Not only is it gonna bring the grand total up probably at least another 10k, but you would be RUINING a really nice car. There is a reason that Supras are so rare, and that Toyota quit making them, NOONE WANTED TO SHELL OUT 40-50k for one even when they were new! I'm not trying to say that if you want one you shouldn't buy one, or that they are a waste of money. If you want one and have the means, knock yourself out. But I just feel that for the price Supras are going for, you could have a newer car that is just as good if not better. Personally, Id rather start pinching pennies for that new 2007 GT-R. But thats just me....
