I own a 2000 Xterra 4X4, manual, with 67,000 miles on it. I've owned it for 6 months. The instrument cluster occasionally shuts off. Sometimes dropping all needles. Sometimes pinning them in any other position other than an accurate one. On top of this my odometer goes out and does not advance while this is happening. I'm getting roughly 300 miles on a full tank. My best is 370. I know there is more because of the dash problem. This has happened on and off since the day I bought it. But not during the test drives. On occasion for a brief time period the entire dash lights would flicker, but not the headlights. This has not happened recently.
Other than that the truck runs wonderful and I'm disappointed in the private seller.
Does anyone have any ideas or ever experienced this? Suggestions? I've talked with Nissan. 3-6 ($300-$500) weeks for them to ship it to the factory and have it looked at. 3-6 weeks without a vehicle. I'm seeking other options. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
