A V8 will massacure the stock transmission in the ranger. You use a V8 transmission. If you're going carborated, you'll probably want to get a C4. T5 requires fabrication because the stock 5 speed is hydrolic clutch and the T5 is mechanical. I also hear the C4 fits well, where as the T5 may require mods to the firewall where the transmission sets. You'll need to do some measuring.
Oh yea- it won't bolt up either - I believe there's kits for putting a V8 behind the stock Ranger transmission, but you're just asking to waste money.
