I'm sorry to be so long replying... have been waiting for the part. YES INDEED, it was a faulty ignition switch! Thank you very much for your help... I faxed your message to Chrysler here who already had the car. They changed the ignition switch (just the electrical part) and voila! They charged me 500 euros (about $600) -- five and a half hour's labor -- I reckon I could have done it myself in less than 2 hours. Never mind... no use crying over spilt milk: without your help the car would still be in their workshop!
The A/C still doesn't work. They say it is a sensor on the pipe that goes from the dryer to the compressor and they will have to change the pipe because the sensor is part of it (doesn't look like it to me). I'm not sure that they have really ckecked it either (they are evasive when I ask!). They seem keen to change it for another $600!
Any comments?
