Re: Voltage Problem
You might try the following:
1. According to the haynes manual, one of the field wires is directly connected to the battery -- someware -- check for breaks in the wire.
2. The second wire connects to some moderate resistance circuitry but should also be at the same voltage as the battery. -- also check for breaks.
3. Check the mounting of the alternator for a proper ground -- but by your tests it is properly grounded.
4. Check the output lug of the alternator and positive terminal of the battery with a voltmeter to ensure that they are at the same voltage, if not, replace the wire.
