Blubaja Is Right,But There's More
Licensing,Is The Reason Why We Don't Get A Lot Of New Car/Trucks/Bike Kits
Somewhere In An Legal Office Around The Mid 90's,A Lawyer Said
"Why Do You Let The Modelcar Companys Use Your Designs To Make Money
That Could Be Yours?" Charge Them More For Licensing Rights & Get A Bigger
Cut Of The Profits Per Unit Sold. Untill This,Licensing Use For Modelcars Was Pretty Cheap.
But Greed Got In To It And Now R/M,AMT,ETC.
Have To Pay "Big Bucks" For That "Hummer H2" Brand Kit(For Example)
This Is Part Of The Reason We See More Re-Issues Than New Kits.
It Takes A Big Chunk Of New Product Development Budget
To Do New Kits Than Old Because The Re-Issues Licensing Has Been Paid Already.
When MPC Was Still Around,They Would Do A Kit Of Any & Every Car They Could
(Check E-Bay For MPC Models,You Will See What I Mean!)
I Myself Perfer To Build "Latemodel" Cars & Trucks But It's Getting Slim,
Take a Look A The Promo Market. In The Late 80's Earley 90's There Was
10-15 New Promo Models A Year,Now Only A Few Vettes.
And I Still Haven't Seen A C6 Promo Yet
Sorry For The Rant,I'm A Former Marketing Rep
