Re: D16A1 Head On2 1.6L ZC?

The head bolt hole closest to the distributor is about 1/4" out of alignment. This is the biggest issue with this swap, unless you don't mind not having your cylinder head completely torqued down! The next issue is the timing belt idler location, and you'll be spending hours at the autoparts store counting timing belt teeth trying to find the correct length timing belt.

If you're using an '88-'89 D16A1 head, you'll need to swap the D16A1 20 tooth crankshaft timing belt gear onto your motor to match the 40 tooth cam gears, or swap 34 tooth cam gears to match your 17 tooth crank gear. Then you'll also need to modify your header to match the ports on the DOHC head since the ports are about 3-5mm off.

Also, You'll be stuck with the stock intake manifold since there are no aftermarket IM's available for the DOHC ZC or D16A1, and the DOHC IM bolt pattern is different than the SOHC pattern.

IMHO, it's not worth the effort. Either swap a whole Civic DOHC ZC motor (Integra DOHC motor won't bolt in without some mods), or slap a Y8 or Z6 head on your motor.
