I recently purchased another car: a 1998 Mercedes C43 AMG, red on black, with staggered SL500 wheels. An automatic 4 door sedan might seem like an odd choice after driving a Z, but my soon to be wife can't drive a manual yet (although I'm going to try and teach her), and I really needed a car with some extra space. The power and fun to drive qualities of the C43 just made it seem like the best "compromise car." In case you are wondering, I am telling you all of this because my new purchase has prompted me to consider selling my Z. I really want another sports car, though, so I'm wondering what you guys think is the best route to follow:

1. My car is in really good shape (a 1996 2 seater T-top NA with tan leather and 67,000 miles), so should I consider converting it? I know this a ALOT of work, but I'm a good mechanic, and it might prove to be a very fulfilling project.

2. Sell my car and go find a nice turbo Z.

3. Sell my car, buy a gas saver (and keep the extra cash), and be satisfied with having the C43 available as a weekend car. (I know this might make me sound like a big pushover, but I plan on letting my wife drive the Merc. during the week.)

4. Keep my NA and drive it until it just won't go anymore. I am hesitant to do this, though, because then the car will be more or less worthless. I would like to sell it while it is still able to bring me enough money to put a substantial down payment on my next car.

If anyone can think of a better option, feel free to provide your input. Also, if you believe I should sell the Z, what do you think is the the least I should take for it?

Sorry for the long post, but I am having trouble making up my mind. I really appreciate any guidance.
id go with number 2. the merc wont satisfy your thrill and it can be the wifes car. if it will not financially disrupt everything you have going i would sell your 96 and get a 93-94 Twin Turbo, if you get lucky and find a deal and get a good offer for yours, you may be able to come out even or only a little behind.

my personal opinion...

good luck in whatever you choose. if you get rid if the Z i think you will miss it. maybe keep what you got if its paid for until you can get a little more financially stable.
