Today I replaced the plugs, cap, rotor, and pvc valve. The retards at the auto parts store didn’t give me the right wires so ill have to go get them tomorrow. I noticed that the number 4 connection on the cap was really corroded and so was the wires connector, all the others looked fine. Could it have been that that plug wasn’t firing very well or at all and that is what is causing it to run too rich?
Also, what is the EGR valve, what does it do, and how to I check it? Also is it necessary to buy the entire cpi spider or is getting the regulator and nut kit enough? Coughing up 300 would suck.
