All those detail pics are great. This looked like an intriguing kit, but I was wary of the quality. This really makes me want it.
I just got a Fujimi Civic Type R and it has the 'rust proofing' texture on the underside as well. Kinda cool, but it's all over everything, even the exhasust.
And yes, galvanized is the appropriate term: My VW is all galvanized as well. I've only seen one Mk IV Golf with any rust around here, and it was around a hole that looked like it was punched in the fender with a pick axe.
