For the headunit I have a rockford fosgate. They do not distort and will also play MP3's. You need to know your budget first, then go looking.

For #2, make sure you buy a headunit with high-level output and not preamp outputs.
And for #4, you won't have to do this if you find a headunit that doesn't act as an amplifier also.
