Having owned a 1988 750 for four years (1991-2005) I can say they are great cars, however they are pricey to maintain (as are all 7ers save the 735i). Two EML, DKW (throttle bodies) fuel pumps and filters, etc. They seem to eat driveshafts at about 10 years and upper control arm bushings at 70,000 miles and then the rear struts are load leveling and not inexpensive (mine had the hydraulic struts at about $350 each). I converted the AC to 134,replaced driveshaft and front strut inserts, one rear strut, fan clutch and all radiator and heater hoses as well as the rubber fuel lines, and also twop MAF (used) in the time I owned the car. She ran great (should right) and would give me about 21 MPG at 70-75. If you want a good 7er of E32 vintage I would opt for a 735i if yu want a V8 avoid the 1994-1995 M60 engines dueto the NIKASIL issue.
Spent my Pfennig so I am out of here, if you want more data on the 750, EMail me at
